2025 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show
Plain & Fancy returns to the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) for the first time in decades. We were pleased to join the 700 other exhibitors in serving the 124,000 industry professionals who came from all over the world.
The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is North America’s largest trade show dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bath design. For Plain & Fancy, KBIS 2025 was an exciting opportunity to connect with thousands of designers, builders, trade representatives, and media. Over the course of two and a half days, we engaged in meaningful conversations, shared insights, and showcased what makes Plain & Fancy stand out in the custom cabinetry space.

“At KBIS 2025, Plain & Fancy’s booth attracted significant attention from industry professionals, designers, and builders eager to see how the brand was evolving under its new ownership. The booth featured a stunning display of custom cabinetry solutions that seamlessly merged traditional craftsmanship with contemporary functionality.” - Igor Bogdanov, CabinetryNews.com

DEFINING ELEMENTS
Our booth was strategically placed near KBIS’ Luxury Lounge, a premier destination for the architecture and design community, design media, influencers, and high-end brands to delve into the world of luxury in kitchen and bath design.
Our booth soared with a 14-foot custom white arch, framing a sleek display of ogee inset cabinetry.
While the heart of the space was a frameless kitchen featuring a mix of trending materials and finishes—including rift-cut white oak, custom paint, and natural walnut—other elements helped bring the full design story to life. The Montauk and Chatham door styles, both modern flat-panel designs, created a clean, streamlined look. Finishes like Thicket on rift-cut white oak, a custom green paint, and natural tones reinforced the breadth of our offering.
In addition to the kitchen, we showcased our Sell Center and incorporated a new design-play area. This interactive display highlighted our latest finishes, materials, and a wide variety of door styles while also carving out a space to celebrate the family heritage and history of Plain & Fancy. Another highlight was the coffee center, designed with pocket doors and unique metal shelves and accents for a truly custom look. The booth provided a dynamic and engaging experience, blending innovation with tradition.
VISUALIZING POSSIBILITY
We highlighted new and innovative products throughout the booth, showcasing fresh design possibilities and at the core of this, we incorporated a handcrafted piece of art that visually represented the variety of wood species and finishes in our offering, reinforcing the depth and versatility of our materials.
ROOTED IN CRAFTSMANSHIP

The singular and most stunning feature of our booth was an intricate custom tree art display — an artistic representation of the craftsmanship that defines Plain & Fancy. One side of the tree displayed the diverse wood species we offer, while the other featured our full range of standard finishes, with a selection of custom colors thoughtfully placed at the base. More than just a showcase of materials, this handcrafted piece of art was a tribute to the skill, passion, and tradition that shape every cabinet we make.
This remarkable piece was brought to life by Rick Yohn, a true artisan who has been a cornerstone of Plain & Fancy for over 40 years. Rick’s passion for woodworking extends far beyond the plant—his dedication to the craft is evident in every detail of this piece. His work not only embodies our commitment to quality but also serves as a tribute to the artistry that sets Plain & Fancy apart.
Through this tree art, we celebrate the timeless beauty of wood and the hands that shape it into something extraordinary.
NEW INNOVATIONS UNVEILED
It wouldn’t be an event without showcasing this year’s new thoughtful solutions that blend function with custom craftsmanship. Our new pivoting pocket door system seamlessly conceals a pantry, bar, or washer and dryer while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.

A custom coffee station with manual pocket doors, metal shelving, a matching metal floor, and Häfele’s Generation 5 multi-white lighting.

Expanding our flat panel door collection, we introduced Bayville (shown above with a DayDream finish) and Meadowbrook (shown above with a custom finish), offering sleek, streamlined aesthetics. Meadowbrook was featured in our Wandering Vine finish which showcased beautifully the sharp, modern yet adaptable design. Bayville was shown in the soft, warm Chapelwood finish, a perfect way to showcase its versatility.

We took leather integration to the next level—paired with metal and available in a wide variety of colors. Our new Slim Shaker doors were displayed fully wrapped in Buffalo Cocoa leather, while our Abbey door had a Platinum finish, metal trim accents, and leather center panels.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is not only a growing concern and expanding in home design, it was also a key focus for the 2025 KBIS. Plain & Fancy has long been focused on environmental solutions for our planet and our customers so at this year’s show we featured some of our best solutions.
- responsibly sourced hardwoods
- low-VOC finishes
- eco-friendly adhesives
- Formaldehyde Free Plywood, TSCA VI 2018
Family Owned Heritage
Our company takes great pride in our family owned heritage. We highlighted this defining characteristic at the show with a large display outlining, through images, our 50 year legacy. Beginning with our founder John Achey in 1968, we told our story all the way to our collaboration with Fabuwood in 2024. From father to sons, this one-of-kind trait is one of the many virtues that make us unique.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
Throughout our history, Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry has been recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail; maintaining a reputation as a luxury brand in the custom cabinetry industry. We are pleased to join KBIS again as they support sustainability, craftsmanship, quality, and camaraderie in the kitchen bath space.
