10 Things Plain & Fancy is Thankful For

In the spirit of the season, I thought that it might be fun to list ten things that we here at Plain & Fancy are thankful for this holiday.

1. NEARLY 48 YEARS OF CRAFTING CABINETS

What a blessing it has been to provide hand crafted custom cabinetry to homeowners for almost half a century.

2. OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS

48 years of business would not have been possible without all the thousands of customers we have had the privilege to serve. A sincere thank you to all who have Plain & Fancy Custom cabinetry in their home.

3. OUR BUSINESS FAMILY OF DEALERS AND REPRESENTATIVES

We owe much of our success to our network of dealers and sales reps. Without your loyalty and dedication to Plain & Fancy we surely would not enjoy the success that we do today. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all current and past Plain & Fancy dealers and representatives.

4. OUR HARDWORKING PLAIN & FANCY TEAM MEMBERS

We have always said that our team members are the backbone of our product, and never has that been more true than today. A special thanks to all of our current and past team members. Enjoy those turkeys!

5. A WONDERFUL GROUP OF VENDORS AND SUPPLIERS

There is a lot that goes into producing a high quality custom cabinet. We put a high value on our vendors and suppliers and believe that we have some of the very best in the industry. Thank you to all our past and present vendors and suppliers.

6. A MAN WITH A SIMPLE DREAM OF MAKING SUPERIOR HANDMADE CUSTOM CABINETRY

Thanks to our founder, John Achey, for having the courage to take the leap and start a business in his backyard garage. John passed away 13 years ago, but will never be forgotten. A humble man like himself would not have wanted to be on this list, but we couldn't leave out this incredible business man and all around wonderful person.

7. A FAMILY BUSINESS FROM THE BEGINNING AND STAYING THAT WAY

Plain & Fancy has always been built on family, and with the 2nd generation owning and running the business and the third generation playing an integral role that tradition is sure to remain for the the foreseeable future.

8. GROWTH AND EXPANSION

Moving our mill to Schaefferstown with our corporate offices and building a new finish room was much needed. It's hard to imagine squeezing all of our finish operations into that much smaller space that we once occupied. Likewise, it seems as if our mill plant has always been right next door. Those times of transporting product from Richland to Schaefferstown would be equally as hard to revert back to.

9. FREEDOMS OF THIS COUNTRY

Most of these things are focused on our business and are more specific to Plain & Fancy, but let me get serious here for a second. We enjoy many freedoms in this country, like being able to gather with family and friends this holiday season. We certainly cannot overlook all the people who played a part in keeping us all free so that we can live the wonderful lives that we do today. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the veterans, both past and present. We appreciate your service to our country!

10. STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT

Machines can't match the skills of what a trained craftsman can accomplish with their own two hands, but that being said we coldn't do without them. Our Cefla Finishing Line completely changed our finish process for the better when it was integrated into our finish room when it was built back in 2008.
